The forthcoming race will be marked by an altered course (first 10 Kms), destined to fascinate the participants by taking them through remote and time-forgotten paths. This makes Olympus Mythical Trail a tougher race, measuring now some 104 km of distance and some 7500 m of vertical ascent.

Starting from 2014 OMT is now becoming a “loop” course, with start and finish at Litochoro, a peaceful Greek resort-town, situated at the foothills of Mt Olympus, but also just a few steps from of the Aegean Sea shore. Regarding the new course, almost its whole length now rolls through rough single-track trails on steep mountainous slopes and narrow ridge tops, continuing through forests and valleys of the mythical mountain, leading thus the runner towards the finish line.

The race starts on Friday midnight, July 4th 2014 and some 150 athletes will be allowed to toe the start line. This year OMT will accept only up to 30 overseas athletes (those not residing in Greece), under a verified 100km trail race as qualification for anyone foreigner interested participating.
